No it is not over. The recession is not over. Unemployment is going to continue to rise, near 10% and stay that way into 2010, then it's going to return to the current level and start improving in 2011. The market which always precedes the economy is going to grow for sometime and then as the stimulus and jobs situation continue to run their course, the market is going to dip again and the S&P is going to test previous low around 680 or just above. I think we are just half way through and in a sucker bear market rally. There is nothing to sustain solid growth. Governments can not buy their way out of recession/depressions. Now I am either right or wrong, partially right or partially wrong, time will tell.
I am going to lay the cards on the table, when this country turned away from God in the 60's by throwing prayer out of schools, that was the start. We began as a Christian nation but decided that God was out of date and that we were smarter. Then we decided that we could murder babys by the method of abortion, and that it wasn't really a life we were taking. Sixty million murders later, we don't seem to learn a thing.
I am not against other religions such as Islam, Budhism or the like. I am glad we have them, at least they have a chance of seeing the light here. But we were founded as a Christian nation and God blessed us. Then we turned our back on him. We are now a nation who has a lot of Christian, but we are by no means a Christian nation.
Let's look at what happened when we took prayer out of the schools. Grades and the education system declined, sexually transmitted escalated, teen suicides rose, disobedience in our children rose, learning declined, school violence increased, simply the system has failed.
It's a mirror of our values as a society. Just look at TV, it's straight from the sewer. What do we need to do? Admit our failures and turn to God through His Son, Jesus. Return to the values that dominated when we were a young nation. The bullet is going to be tough to take, but we can make it. We have got to stop the slide into the pits and then work our way back with a solid faith in the creator.
