Father's Day-----The Long Road

Today is Father's Day. The day to honor our fathers and that we will do. For without them, we would not be here. That is reason enough, there does not have to be any other reason.

You fathers, you either were or are some, or all, or none of these people:
  • were you the leader of the family
  • did you protect your family
  • did you give them security, financial, emotional and spiritual?
  • did you teach your kids the right ways to navigate life
  • did you set a good personal example
  • did you spend time with your kids giving them self confidence by your acceptance
  • did you teach them about Jesus Christ
Most all of us have fallen short of the mark in one or more of the above traits. Some have failed all of the above and the kids had to raise themselves. Some of you showed them what not to be by your example and they turned out pretty good.

For you who are still raising kids at home it's not to late, you can actually rise to the occasion. First, take an inventory of where you stand on the responsibilities of fatherhood.  You also need to consider Jesus Christ; are you saved, and have taught your kids about Jesus and lived your life by His example.

Why, because He is the only real truth, the real peace, the real joy. It doesn't matter how much money you make, you can't take it with you. And you do have a choice, where are you going to spend eternity------there are only two choices-------Heaven or hell. Same for your kids. How does this play, you led your kids straight to hell by example????

It' s not to late to be the leader of your family. Your family needs you and so does this country. Dear fathers, take an honest stock of where you stand and take appropriate action. It is not rocket science, you either are or aren't living your role.

Danica Patrick ----- Role Model?????????????

Danica Patrick as a continuously improving indy car racer and person of celebrity status, I am disappointed in the Go Daddy ads. There is a strong suggestion of sexuality in most of them and to a minor degree, perversion.

Danica whether she likes it or not is a role model to the youth and especially the young girls of this country and the world at large. I think her main responsibility is to display the virtues she would want her little girl (if she had one) to possess. Would she want the child to display the traits she is displaying in her ads. Certainly she is making tons of money, but money doesn't buy character.

I used to be a fan, but now because of what she portrays, I am no longer. Wouldn't do business with Go Daddy either for their poor choices in the selection of advertising themes and whom they want to appeal to.

Doctors Can't Compete With This

John G. Lake was born in 1870 in Ontario, Canada and moved to the U.S. with his family in 1886. In 1893, he married and became a successful business man. As a result of successful healings of family members including his wife; he quit his business and went into the ministry full time.

As a young man, Lake was always hungry for the things of God. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1907. A year later he took his family to South Africa and began missionary work. He just a few short years he pioneered more than 625 churches. While on a trip, upon coming home, he found out that his wife had died.

Lake moved back to the U.S., later remarried and settled in Spokane where he established a healing ministry. More than 100,000 healings were recorded during a five year period. Later he founded works in Portland and San Diego, but later returned to Spokane.

Lakes life and ministry stand as an example for all Christians and non believers to the great power of God available to those that just believe, highly regard, and act on His Word.

Please dear brothers and sisters, there is nothing God can't do. He has done it all already. Let me know if you have a proven, documental better source of power than Him.

Is It Over???

No it is not over. The recession is not over. Unemployment is going to continue to rise, near 10% and stay that way into 2010, then it's going to return to the current level and start improving in 2011. The market which always precedes the economy is going to grow for sometime and then as the stimulus and jobs situation continue to run their course, the market is going to dip again and the S&P is going to test previous low around 680 or just above. I think we are just half way through and in a sucker bear market rally. There is nothing to sustain solid growth. Governments can not buy their way out of recession/depressions. Now I am either right or wrong, partially right or partially wrong, time will tell.

I am going to lay the cards on the table, when this country turned away from God in the 60's by throwing prayer out of schools, that was the start. We began as a Christian nation but decided that God was out of date and that we were smarter. Then we decided that we could murder babys by the method of abortion, and that it wasn't really a life we were taking. Sixty million murders later, we don't seem to learn a thing.

I am not against other religions such as Islam, Budhism or the like. I am glad we have them, at least they have a chance of seeing the light here. But we were founded as a Christian nation and God blessed us. Then we turned our back on him. We are now a nation who has a lot of Christian, but we are by no means a Christian nation.

Let's look at what happened when we took prayer out of the schools. Grades and the education system declined, sexually transmitted escalated, teen suicides rose, disobedience in our children rose, learning declined, school violence increased, simply the system has failed.

It's a mirror of our values as a society. Just look at TV, it's straight from the sewer. What do we need to do? Admit our failures and turn to God through His Son, Jesus. Return to the values that dominated when we were a young nation. The bullet is going to be tough to take, but we can make it. We have got to stop the slide into the pits and then work our way back with a solid faith in the creator.
