Good Works Can Send You Straight to Hell

It doesn’t matter how many good works that you perform; the all-important thing is the blood of Jesus Christ. It is the key to Heaven. Christ opens, and no man shuts; He shuts, and no man opens. It is Christ, and Christ alone, that can open Heaven to you and not your good works.

Our good works, are they useless? No, not after faith. If you believe first, you may have as many good works as you please. But if you believe, you will never trust in them, for if you trust in them, you have spoiled them, and they are not good works any longer. Have as many good works as you please, but still put your trust wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you do not, you will never unlock Heavens gate.

So then we must have true faith, if you pretend that you have no sins, you deceive yourself and the truth is not in you. If you believe the deadly delusion that by your good works you shall enter Heaven, you shall find at the last great day that your hopes are worthless.

Take heed of your good works. Do them after faith. However, just remember, the way to eternal life is simply to believe in Jesus Christ. Without faith it is impossible to be saved and to please God, because without faith there is no union to Christ.

Faith is a connection with Christ. Christ is on the shore, and he is the life line. He is holding the rope of faith. If we lay hold of it with the hand of confidence, he pulls us to shore. However, our good works, having no connection with Christ, drift along down the gulf of mortal  despair.  Grab on to Christ  with all your heart and might, and you will live for eternity with Him in Heaven!
