There are many people who are ready to serve both God and the devil. They meet a minister, and how pious and holy they are. On the Sabbath, you would think they are the most respectable and upright people in the world.
But on a weekday, you will find some of these to be the greatest scoundrels and cheats; yet some of these men are so sanctimonious in their piety on the Sabbath.
No confession of sin can be genuine and unless it is whole hearted. It is worthless to say, “I have sinned,” and then keep on sinning. “I have sinned,” is useless unless you mean it from your heart. The double minded man’s confession is of no avail.
