The question here is when does a fetus become a life? Jeremiah 1:5 states "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you."
Early Christian writers condemned abortion explicitly. There is no known early Christian text that contains any exceptions under which abortion would be morally permissible. The Didache, which most scholars consider to be written in the latter 1st century A.D., comments on the commandment, "you shall do nothing to any man that you would not wish to be done to yourself."
Religiously speaking, a fetus becomes a life at conception. Scientifically speaking, a fetus becomes a life at conception because it has its own DNA. Legally speaking, a fetus becomes a life at 24 to 36 weeks. It is readily apparent that there is a significant discrepancy between the religious/scientific community and the legal community.
We are currently aborting 1,300,000 babies a year and have aborted north of 40 million babies since Roe vs. Wade.
My thought is simply this, "who are we as mere mortals to decide the fate of what God has created?" May we be over stepping our authority?
80% surveyed did not favor abortion, yet the politicians and courts go on as if we all want it. They will have to answer for their actions. And if you support well..........
